Happy New Year!

2009 was Servoweb’s best year yet with dozens of new and exciting projects moving through the office and 2010 is shaping up to be even stronger, with a number of projects just getting finished up for January launch and a nice line up of new sites just waiting to get started!
Some notable achievements of 2009 include the launch of PaddleSurf.ca and CanSkier.com, two online resources designed to support the Canadian Stand Up Paddle Surfing and Canadian Alpine Skiing communities respectively.
Both site’s are performing beyond expectations in the Search Engines, and PaddleSurf.ca in particular has seen tremendous growth with plenty of online discussion, content contributions and interest from abroad.
Our Volvo Cross Country Resource site, VolvoXC.com, reached 10,000 members strong, no small achievement considering this site’s narrow subject matter. This site will also see a complete re-design and re-development sometime during the first quarter of 2010.
We’re also just putting the finishing touches on a brand new corporate ID/logo, and website redesign for Servoweb.com, as well as this weblog. The current design has done a good job over the past six years, but we felt it was time for a bit of an update!

LifeOnPurposeNetwork.com Pre-Launch

We’ve just wrapped up initial development for Pinc Productions’ Life On Purpose™ Network (LOPN), an online philanthropic media platform dedicated to engaging viewers through videos that entertain, enlighten and inspire.
The Life On Purpose™ Network is the first online specialty network that combines compelling video stories with a call to action for viewers. The Network’s built-in “donate to this cause” application connects viewers with meaningful causes and helps support the work of non-profit organizations and charities making a difference.
Our role for this project includes all identity and interface design elements, front end coding development.

Paddle Surf Canada: New online community for Canadian Paddle Surfing

We here at Servoweb have found a great new Summer sports activity called Paddle Surfing, or more popularly known as Stand Up Paddle Surfing or SUP.
Layman’s description of the sport is you move through the water on an oversized surfboard by way of a very long canoe paddle, but it’s much more than that! It’s easy to surf the tiniest of waves (especially the sort we typically get here in Vancouver BC), the elevated view while flatwater paddling is much better and more interesting than sitting in a kayak or canoe, and the workout and test of balance combines for an exceptional core, cardio and stability workout.
Needless to say, we’re completely sold on the whole deal so to help promote the new sport we’ve gone ahead and developed PaddleSurf.ca, an online community, resource and blog based on the sport of paddle surfing in Canada.
So go ahead, check it out and maybe we’ll see you out on the water someday soon!

Some Flash work for Kookaburra Lodge, Sun Peaks

Just finished off some Flash design and programming work for Kookaburra Lodge in Sun Peaks, British Columbia.
Project scope included design of floorplan layouts suitable for both web and print, file output, and Flah presentation design and coding.

Pinc Giving Redesign

We’ve just finished off a complete redesign of PincGiving.com along with the guys (and one girl) at Thirdi Software.
The project included not only a complete overhaul of the site’s overall layout and organization, but also the integration with Thirdi’s very own content management system, which makes it super quick and easy for Beverley Pomeroy (Pinc Giving’s Founder) and her team to create, edit and delete pages from the website.

OutdoorSource4Women.com launched

We’ve just launched a brand new site called OutdoorSource4Women.com, a site dedicated to providing a playground of individual travel and group adventure packages that caters to all levels of participation and promotes a safe and non-competitive environment.
Included in the project was a complete design and development, plus the integration of a robust ecommerce, newsletter and newsposting service.

New website for Stone Temple Nightclub

Yet another brand new site for Sea to Sky Hospitality Ltd., The Stone Temple Nightclub gets a facelift with.
With the growing use of smart phones, we decided it was high time to start offering a special, pared-down version of the site for the mobile crowd. Take a look at http://stonetemplenightclub.com/mobile/ to see how that looks. Pretty simple, but that’s the whole point… To provide a quick and easy way to find out about the latest events at The Stone Temple without having to hit your home/office computer.
The mobile version of the site also helps the effort by creating a secondary version of the website which is highly optimized for search engine rankings, something that’s simply not achievable with the more media intensive version of the site.

We’ve just launched a new brand and accompanying website for Star Gold Corp, a new publicly traded gold company based out of Post Falls, Idaho.
Site features include captivating photo galleries and a built in email newsletter manager, making it easy for the client to manage and distrubute email newsletters to their prospective investor list.

Some new print work for The Mountain Club, Whistler

A relatively small update today, just wrapped up some print design work for The Mountain Club in Whistler.
The new piece defines a slightly new design direction initiative for the restaurant, portraying a somewhat more casual focus on exceptional food and good times.
New website to follow in the coming months, as well as a complete series of print ads for various local media outlets throughout Whistler and the Lower Mainland.
